Paris on Film 2024

We finally made our 2020 trip happen! In late 2019 we started planning a family vacation to Paris for Spring Break (April 2020)… well… we all know what happened then.

After 4 years, we finally made our trip happen. With an addition kid in tow, we finally made our first trip over the pond since COVID started. M is now slightly older than E would have been when we went in 2020. We stuck to the same initial plan and we spent 7 days split between Disney and Paris.

With a major fear of traveling with my work cameras (Hello! Anxiety over losing my income!), I brought out my old film camera. Back in high school, I learned to shoot in manual and develop my own film with the magical leadership of Mrs. Becki Henderson-Gow. She cultivated and grew a love of photography that has lasted decades (whew… that makes me feel old). Although I can no longer develop my own film, I dug my trusty (and dusty) Vivitar 3800N out of my memory bins in our storage closet, and brought it along on our trip.

For some reason, my mind only thought in Black and White for Paris. All of my Paris photos were shot on Ilford HP5 Plus 400 film. I did take photos at Disney too, but only color seemed fitting and those photos were shot on Kodak Gold 400. I’ll share those in a later post.
